Not Medical Advice — Read First

Swanson's Apple is a research tool that generates computational hypotheses, not conclusions. It combines curated biomedical databases using an automated scoring formula to surface drug–disease pairings that share a biological mechanism but haven't yet been studied together directly.

Nothing on this site is, or should be treated as, medical advice, a diagnosis, a treatment recommendation, or a substitute for consultation with a licensed physician or other qualified health provider. The hypotheses shown here are not peer-reviewed, not clinically validated, and not verified for safety or efficacy in humans. A high score does not mean a drug is safe, effective, or appropriate for any condition — it means the underlying data and literature meet the criteria of this tool's scoring formula, nothing more.

Do not start, stop, or change any medication or treatment based on information from this site. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before making medical decisions.

No Warranty

This site and its data are provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

The underlying data is drawn from third-party biomedical databases (see the About page for sources) and computed automatically. It may contain errors, omissions, or outdated information. We make no representation that any hypothesis, score, or paper count is accurate, current, or complete.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator of Swanson's Apple shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising out of or in any way connected with the use of this site or reliance on any information it provides — including, without limitation, damages related to health, medical decisions, financial loss, or research outcomes.

This site is offered free of charge, for informational and research purposes only. Use of it is entirely at your own risk.

Terms of Use

By using Swanson's Apple, you agree to use it only for lawful, research-oriented purposes. You may not use this site or its data to make or justify real-world medical, clinical, or treatment decisions for yourself or others.

The site, its underlying code, and its scoring methodology may change at any time without notice — see the Updates page for a running changelog. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability and may modify, suspend, or discontinue the service at any time.

Hypotheses and derived scores are generated from third-party data sources, each governed by its own license and terms (CTD, Open Targets, ChEMBL, DGIdb, DrugCentral, DISEASES — see About for links). If you redistribute or build on data from this site, you are responsible for complying with those underlying licenses.

Privacy Policy

Swanson's Apple does not require an account, does not ask you to submit personal or health information, and does not sell or share any data with third parties for advertising.

To be precise about what does happen: this site uses Vercel Analytics, a cookieless, privacy-focused analytics service, to see aggregate page-view counts (page visited, referrer, approximate country, and device/browser type). It does not use tracking cookies and does not build individual visitor profiles. Standard web server logs (e.g. IP address, timestamp, requested page) are also generated automatically by our hosting infrastructure, as with essentially any website, and are used only for security and troubleshooting.

We do not use third-party advertising trackers, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

This page may be updated as the site evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above and, where significant, noted on the Updates page.
